JAI Challenge #31 & some Invitations...
I am a bit more back in the swing of things this week and I even had time to participate in the latest Just Add Ink Challenge # 31. This one was a colour challenge...
I love these colours together, here is what I came up with...
I used one of the new stamp sets from the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue. I love this stamp set...Contempo Christmas. I've also used the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka dots embossing folder and the Tiny Tags stamp set and Jewellery tag punch. I am actually using this card for a swap I am in as well...sorry girls if you see this on my blog before you get the real life version!
Once I created this card, I was happy with the design so I switched it round a little and came up with something a bit different. I am using this one for another swap I'm in.
This one uses the same as above but instead of the Christmas Stamp Set, I've used the Flight of the Butterfly set which is my absolute favourite at the moment! I've added some Crystal Effects to the dots on the butterfly which gives it a raised glossy finish. While I was making these cards for my swap, my daughter saw them and decided she wanted them for her birthday party invite. So with a little bit of playing around, this is the party invite...
Ella loves these invites and is giving them out at school tomorrow.
Well thats all I have for you today. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Missing...again!
There are just not enough hours in the day at the moment. I have hardly done any creating lately and I am having withdrawals! In my last post I promised I'd stop by every Wednesday with a post...and I didn't do that! I have just been so caught up in so many things that Wednesday came and went and I just didn't get to post. So I apologise. Anyway, I did spend some time today making some cards for two different swaps I am participating in at the moment. I will photograph them once they are finished and post them. But for now, you will have to put up with some cards I created for a class a few weeks ago.
This one is using the Baroque Motifs Stamp set...a great all round stamp set for every occasion. I've also using Stampin Write markers to colour the flower stamps to give the two different colours (hard to see on the photo...the centre of the flower is green and petals are red). I've also used the Stampin Up Matt Pack for paper piercing near the Scallop edge.
This card uses NO STAMPS!!! I have just used an old Designer Pattern Paper and punched out some squares using my square punch. Then I have used the beautiful Certainly Celery Ribbon with a cute Stampin Up button and linen thread. I have used Kraft cardstock in the background and Confetti White in the foreground. This card would be versatile for many different occasions and was very quick and easy to put together.
Don't forget the last chance list (link on sidebar) finishes at the end of August, so not long left to get your favourite stamp sets, cardstock, ink etc that are retiring. Drop me an email if you'd like to order anything.
In saying that on 1st September the new SU catalogue is available and I have to say I love it! There are some wonderful new stamp sets, the new colour range is amazing and all the accessories and extras are superb! And that is not just me being biased!! It really is a great catalogue and as always provides lots of inspiration as well. So stay tuned for some sneak peaks of some of the new stamp sets.
Well thats it for now. I'll be back Wednesday with some more to show you.

Missing in Action
Life is hectic. There are times where I just feel like there is so much to do and not enough hours in the day! This past week I have desperately wanted to just create with my sneak peak goodies from the new SU Catalogue, but unfortunately there has just been too much happening. I am hoping to have time this weekend to sit down and play - I need to as I am participating in two more swaps and have to have 24 cards made by the end of this week (two lots of 12!).
Yesterday I did my first birthday party. There were 10 girls ages 9 & 10 and they were wonderful. I had them all make a card, we covered a memo cube and decorated the cover and we made bookmarks. I was amazed at how creative all the girls were and how different all their projects turned out. Happy Birthday Maritsa...I hope you and your friends had a great time. I will post some pictures of what we made over the next few days.
Anyway, I thought I'd share some more scrapbook layouts that I did at the Scrapbook Getaway I went on a few weeks ago. I can't really take any credit for these layouts...the idea came from the very talented Nicole S. Nicole taught me all I know in scrapbooking and I love her blog...always full of lots of inspiration. Anyway, this is a must do scrapbook page for your kids. It is easy - your child does the journalling for you! All I did was ask each of my children the questions and wrote down exactly what their answers were - word for word! It was really intersting and I loved what my kids came up with.
I have decided that I am going to have a set day to post here. I think I will be better at posting regularly if I have a set day! So that day is going to be a Wednesday. Now that is not to say that I'm not going to post on other days, but I will always post on a Wednesday. So make sure you stop by on Wednesdays!
If you have any suggestions or anything you would like me to add to my blog, please leave me a comment and let me know.
I'll be back over the weekend with some sneak peaks on products from the new catalogue.

Helping Hudson
I wanted to let you know about a great thing that a bunch of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators are doing to raise money for a little boy, Hudson.
This is Hudson...
Hudson is 2 ½ and has had a tough little life! Doctors realised he had an incomplete brain before he was born and as a newborn he was discovered to be legally blind. Hudson has recently been diagnosed with both Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. His mobility has been hindered severely by his disabilities, however his family and friends wish nothing more than to give him the chance to get moving on his own. Hudson needs a special Wheelchair/Walker, called a Kid Walker. This device will help get him mobile, allow him to play with his brother and sister, interact with other children his own age and give him independence in his day to day life!
There is a HUGE online stamping event taking place, called Helping Hudson -A Wheely Great Cause! There are going to be three weeks of stamping fun for you to join in – come back as often as you can, there will always be lots more to see, do and learn. It kicks off on the 1st August and will run right through until the 22nd. You’ll find it at http://www.helpinghudson.blogspot.com/.
You can DO SOMETHING TO HELP HUDSON, at the same time as helping yourself learn how to make some great new paper craft projects.
How? By purchasing bundles of tutorials kindly donated by Stampin’ Up! demonstrators the world over. Each bundle has 10 fun-filled tutorials for just AU$10! And there are six themes to choose from: Bags & Boxes, Christmas, Kids’ Birthdays, Projects for Men & Boys, Punch Art & Scrapbooking. There’s even a FREE bonus bundle if you buy four or more. All proceeds go directly to help Hudson.
The Helping Hudson Crew will also be posting some awesome challenges throughout the three weeks. For a small donation you can join in and be in the running for some FANTASTIC Stampin’Up! Prize packs, kindly donated by Stampin’ Up! Australia.
So check it out now...I'm off to buy some tutorials for myself now!
