Birthday Parties

A bit over a week ago my twins turned 8. How time flies, I can't believe they are 8 years old...that just blows me away! Anyway, they both had parties (seperately) and I created a few things for the parties.

Being a typical boy, Jake didn't want to much "fluff"! His party was at one of those laser game places which meant very little for me to do. I did however make some lolly bags. I used the absolutely adorable Make a Monster Stamp set (with jake's help) and created tags for the bags. Very quick and easy and they looked cute...although I have to admit probably not one of the boys even took a look at the tag, they just ripped it open to find what was inside! Oh well, Jake liked them.

Ella takes after me and loves anything creative, so for her party we had it at home and she wanted one of my Stampin' Parties! So I came up with a few items for the girls to make and they all seemed to love it! I had fun preparing for it and I probably got a little carried away with the accessories for the girls, but I couldn't help myself. they got a bag that contained the lollies and goodies but we also used it to put the finished craft items in once they were done. I made the name tags with the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and I added a bit of Crystal Effects to give them a bit of lift. We also gave all the girls a little Stampin' Up! Stamp which I packaged up and added some tags using the jewellery tag punch. Ella loved it all and her friends seemed to as well.

Well thats it for now, being school holidays I have had no time to create. Hopefully I will have some time in the next few days. Also stay tuned as I'm planning to do a post on my favourite 10 things from the new catalogue and show you some projects I have made with them.

Birthday Week

This week has been hectic with my twins 8th birthday. Today was Jacob's party and Ella's is on Saturday. Plus we have all the family coming over on Sunday. So I have heaps to do. I have made some cute things using Stampin' Up! products for the party. I will be back once things calm down a little to show you some pictures.

In the meantime, here are a few cards that I did in a class I taught a little while back. Hope you like them.

This first card is an Easel card...very easy to put together and something just a little different to a normal card.  This is the front view.

Here is the side...

This card is another very, very simple one, but the use of ribbon makes it a bit more special. I am loving all the ribbons at the moment!

Be back in a few days once things settle down a little!

Exciting times!

Today I received my first order from the new catalogue and it is, for a change, all stuff for me. Its very exciting and I'm keen to spend a few hours playing around with it all tonight! I can't wait to show you some things I make with the new products! I'll be back over the next few days with some samples.

In the meantime, I thought I'd show you a few more cards I've made recently.

This card is made with my favourite stamp set at the moment...Flight of the Butterfly. It also uses some cute felt flowers and a rhinestone brad.

This card is based on one made by the very talented Danielle Daws. I am loving using ribbon on my cards at the moment, it really does give them an extra special feel. The stamp is from the Pun Fun set (I just omitted the pun!).

Again with this card I have used some ribbon and felt flower. I've also used an older SU Designer Paper.

Thats about it from me today. I'm off to play with my new goodies!!

JAI 33 Sketch Challenge

Once again I am taking part in the Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge. The ladies that run this have give some great challenges and the design team are amazing, its definitely the place to go if you are stuck for inspiration! Anyway, this sketch couldn't have come at a better time with fathers day tomorrow. Here is the sketch:

And here is my fathers day card for my husband based on the sketch:

and the inside:

This card uses the beautiful new Designer Series Paper - Greenhouse Gala. There are some beautiful colours in these papers and this zig zag pattern was perfect for a male card. The love stamp is from the Cute by the Inch Hostess set that can be found in the new catalogue and I have also used the sentiment from the very versatile Teeny Tiny Sentiments set. Along with my new heart punch, it all came together quite well I think!

I'm off now to make one for my dad and father in law...will probably just change the love stamp to the owl from the same set!

Have a good weekend.
