The trick to Bows

A fellow demonstrator, Teneale Williams, who is an absolute legend in the Stampin' Up! community, presented a Workshop Wow at Convention on tying bows and working with ribbon. It was fantastic and she has posted it on YouTube for others to see. So I thought I'd share the video with you guys so that you can check it out. Its a little hard to hear, so you'll need to turn your sound up. Enjoy...

More from Convention

Ok so as promised, I thought I'd share some photos of a few goodies I got from Convention. There were a lot of other things I received, but I can't share these with you as the are from the new IB&C that will be released in September and I am sworn to secrecy! However, there are a couple of things I can share with you.

Firstly, this is the convention bag that all attendee's received on arrival. This was filled with some of our goodies. It is very bright...it made it very easy to spot SU demo's out and about it Melbourne!

These are Stampin' Up! Shopping bags that I purchased at Momento Mall. I did buy several of these as I just loved them and not only will they come in very handy, they are also good for promoting Stampin' Up!

Last but not least, my absolute favourite item...my new Stampin' Up! Tote Bag. I purchased this at Momento Mall and they were in very high demand. It looks great, but is also so practical. It has lots of pockets and dividers to hold lots of things. I can't wait to use it at my next workshop!

The only other thing I haven't shareed as yet is the swaps I received. I just need to find some time to photograph them all, so I hope to do that in the next day or two and share them with you. There are some fabulous ones!

Well thats about it from me today. Have a good week and I'll be back in the next day or two.

Clean & Simple FTL#141

As I mentioned in the previous post, I have been on a bit of a roll today...having fun playing with a few different things.

I made this card below based on the Clean and Simple FTL#141 Sketch.

Again its a simple style. You probably can't see it on the photo above, but I've used Crystal Effects and some Dazzling Diamonds on the Butterfly to give it a bit of a lift and a bit of bling! I've taken a closer photo below in the hopes of capturing the effect. Dazzling Diamonds are my new favourite thing to play with at the moment!

Card Recipe (all products Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Strength & Hope, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz andd Blushing Bride
Ink: Blushing Bride, Early Espresso
DSP: DSP In Colour Paper Stack
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals, Circle Punch, Scallop Border Punch

I'd love to know what you think of this card!

As always, thanks for stopping by.

JAI #68

I'm on a roll again with my cards and have made a couple today. This one is for the Just Add Ink Challenge #68. If you haven't done so before, check out this great challenge site...not only for challenges but also for wonderful inspiration and ideas!

Anyway, this week at Just Add Ink it is a colour challenge...

I loved the look of these colours together when I saw it so couldn't resist playing along this week. Plus it uses two of my all time favourite colours...Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze!

So here is what I came up with...

This photo is a little dark! I was really happy with how this card turned out...simple, but effective. You probably can't see, but on the little flowers on the butterfly wings, I have stuck the tiny pearls in the middle of each and it gives the card a bit more interest and dimension!

Card Recipe (all Products Stampin' Up! unless specified):
Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze
Accesssories: 1/4" White Grosgrain Ribbon, Curly Label Punch, Butterfly Punch, Designer Buttons, Pearls

I know I promised more on convention...stop back tomorrow and I will share some more convention photos!

Thanks for stopping by,

Covention Part 1

As promised, I am going to share some convention highlights with you. Today is a few photos.

The convention was held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. I stayed at the Crown Plaza which was only a 5 minute walk from the Convention Centre (it was also not far from all the shops!). This is a photo of the Convention Centre taken from my hotel room (its the lower building in the centre of photo).

It was a great venue! The main stage was where we had all the main sessions. The stage setup blew me away. It was all so professional and inspiring.

As you can see there were giant wooden stamps and a giant tag...I loved it and was a little in awe of it all!

I also loved that they filmed everything so you could see things up close on the big screen (obviously vital for the stamping demos).

One of the many highlights for me was thtat I got to meet and chat with Shelli who is the founder of Stampin' Up! She is one amazing woman. She is a very genuine, caring, delightful, and not to mention talented, woman. I was completely inspired by her and honoured to have my photo taken with her.

The Convention experience was amazing. The entire Stampin' Up! staff were lovely and very welcoming. All the other demonstrators were so friendly and when any of them realised that I was on my own, they took me under their wing! I made some new friends and hope to catch up with them again at future Stampin' Up! Events.

I loved getting all the sneak peaks of the new catalogue (released in September). I'd love to share them with you, but I am sworn to secrecy! So you will have to wait. But I can tell you that I'm sure you will be as "wowed" as I was at the fabulous new products on their way! The make and takes were awesome, but again I can't show these to you as they use some new products. I will share them when I can.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 days in Melbourne (3 days of Convention). I spent time shopping and discovering Melbourne and more shopping! It was nice to do something for "me" and have time to myself.

Next year's Convention is in Canberra and I wouldn't miss it, I really did have a wonderful time.

Tomorrow I will take some photos of my purchases from Momento Mall as well as all the wonderful swaps I received.

Thanks for stopping by.

Off I Go

In a few short hours I leave for Melbourne and my first Stampin' Up! Convention. I am very excited. Can't wait to learn lots of Stampin' Up! stuff as well as shop in Melbourne and relax. I'm packed and ready to go. My swaps are done...I only managed about 60 in the end (some demo's make hundreds!). But I'm happy with how they turned out.

This is my swaps, all ready to go!

This is a sneak peak of the inside of a finished one. Obviously I haven't added photos of my own kids to the swaps, just have the square there ready for people to add their own photo.

I made little matchbook albums and if you stop by on Monday when I get back from Convention, I will be posting the template and instructions so you can make your own.

Have a great week everyone and I will be back next week with lots to share, I'm sure.

A cute idea

Hi All,

I've been flat out getting my swaps ready for convention. In a few short days I fly out for the Stampin' Up! Convention in Melbourne and to say I'm excited is an understatement! I can't wait. I'm looking forward to learning lots of things from Stampin' Up! as well as shopping in Melbourne and having some "me" time!

Anyway, as I haven't made anything new to show you, I thought I'd share a link to Shelli Gardner's Blog. Shelli is the founder of Stampin' Up! and often has some great ideas on her blog. Go here to see some cute punch art bookmarks that she shared recently. These are adorable and very clever! I'll definitely be giving some of them a try when I get back from Melbourne.

Hope you enjoy. Happy Mothers Day to all the mums...hope you get very spoilt on Sunday.

I'm planning on taking my laptop to Melbourne so will try and share some photos etc while I'm at Convention.

Thanks for stopping by.
