Simple Aussie Girls Challenge #2

I'm a little late in posting this...things have been very hectic this week! Anyway, just letting you know that the 2nd Challenge is up at Simple Aussie Girls. This weeks challenge is...

Conversation.
Parts of conversation.
Things people say - all the time.

I find using conversations a great way to scrap. As long as you record the conversation at the time, this is an easy way to journal as you don't have to think quite as much!!!

My layout for this challenge is about Noah my mischevious 6 year old and a conversation I had with him back in his preschool days. I'd written this down in a notebook but had never gotten around to scrapping it till now!

Also just a reminder that I have organised a Scrap Chat Create day for this Saturday - 12 uninterupted hours of scrapping! What more could you want!!!! If you are interested, please send me an email or call me on 0419 219 240.

First Challenge

Hi everyone. The first challenge is up over at Simple Aussie Girls and we are very excited about it! It was a sketch challenge this week and this is what I came up with.

I've not strayed from the sketch too much, but kept it very simple and clean. Love the colours in it and who can go past white cardstock. It is definitely my go to colour!

Why not join in on the challenge at Simple Aussie Girls. You can link up your entry or add them to our Flickr group. All the info is on the blog. So make sure you check it out!

Don't forget, I'm offering FREE POSTAGE for all orders over $30 for the month of June. I can have orders posted anywhere in Australia, so check out the catalogue now and place your order.

Thanks for stopping by!

Struggle with Cards for Men?

Are you like me and struggle to make cards for men? I find it really difficult as I'm drawn to ribbon, bright colours and a bit of bling all of which don't exactly equal a male card! So a little while ago, I had to make a card for my brother and this is what I came up with. It is very simple, but effective. I think I will use this design often for male cards!

I have used black, crumb cake, baja breeze and confetti white for the colours. The scalloped bottom broder is easily done by punching circles using a circle punch and then layering them up in the pattern. The stamp is one from a Sale-a-bration set which is no longer available (sorry!). To finish it off, I added a couple of matching baja breeze brads.

This next card is not really a male card, but thought I'd add it in as it uses the same stamp as above. This one has bling (I love bling on cards!).

I love this colour combo...tempting turquoise, rich razzleberry and black! I've used the SU black satin ribbon and two rhinestone jewels. The rich razzleberry has been embossed using a Big Shot embossing folder. Another extremely simple, but effective card.

Don't forget I'm offering FREE POSTAGE on all orders over $30 for the month of June. So place your order now by email or phone me on 0419 219 240. The catalogues can be viewed by clicking the link on my sidebar.

Oh and one other reminder, there is lots happening over at the Simple Aussie Girls blog. Monday will be the first challenge so make sure you stop by and join in on the fun with the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Simple Layout

Firstly, thank you to everyone that has checked out the Simple Aussie Girls blog so far. The response has been beyond what we could have imagined...even Cathy Z and Ali Edwards have visited (Ali even tweeted about us, which is so exciting!). If you haven't already checked it out, head over there for lots of absolutely amazing inspiration.

So I thought I'd share a layout here (I've also just posted this at Simple Aussie Girls). This is one about the special bond Ella has with Noah. She mothers him and looks out for him and I love that she is like that.

As usual for me,  it is a very simple design, but one that is very versatile. I've used the Stampin Up paper daisy, a large brad as well as the scallop edge punch and corner rounder. The patterned paper is one I had in my stash!

Just a reminder that I am offering FREE POSTAGE on all orders over $30 for the month of June so email or call me (0419 219 240) to place your order.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Add Ink 71 - Sympathy Card

I am once again participating in the Just Add Ink Challenge. This week's challenge, JAI 71, is a colour challenge...Black & White. Simple you might say. Well not as simple as you would first think! It was harder than I thought using only two colours. I kept wanting to add another colour in, but stuck with the challenge of black & white.

So I did a Sympathy card (not a type of card I make very often, so struggled a little with what is appropriate in these situations)...

As usual, I have gone for a Clean & Simple style. The butterfly stamp is a sneak peak of a new stamp set that will be released in the new Idea Book & Catalogue in September. It is my favourite butterfly stamp so far. I have used a Big Shot embossing folder and the beautiful black satin ribbon and a little rhinestone jewel in the centre of the butterfly (a little hard to see).

Speaking of Simple, don't forget to check out the all new Simple Aussie Girls blog for some great Simple Scrapping Inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by.

It is here!!!! SIMPLE AUSSIE GIRLS!

I am so, so excited that a new venture has started. Some scrapping buddies of mine came up with the brilliant idea of a Simple Scrapping blog. We have all missed Simple Scrapbooks Mag and online gallery since it finished up and have craved inspiration in our style. I am honoured that these ladies have asked me to be a part of it. So you have to go check it out NOW.

The very talented Nicole (who taught me scrapping in the first place) said this on her blog and I think it sums up Simple Aussie Girls perfectly...

A simple style gallery is finally here. It will be just layouts from simple Aussie girls, for you to scroll through and get inspiration. Layouts only, not talking! Of course, you can talk and ask questions in the comments sections, but us posting are being quiet and just sharing layouts. So you have something, other than stupid facebook, to relax infront of with your morning coffee for 5 minutes, and get inspired along the way.

I for one am really looking forward to it.

Click
here and go check it out. Even Cathy Zielske has, so you'd better hurry!

And if you like it, while you are there, copy the html for the
Simple Aussie Girls button and pop it on your blog for us.

So I will still be posting cards and layouts here, but will also be posting over at Simple Aussie Girls as well. I am so excited about this!

As always, thanks for stopping by. Hope you are staying dry if you are in Sydney. Perfect scrapping weather!

A Scrapbook Layout

Its been awhile since I shared a scrapbook layout...to be honest I haven't had a lot of time to do any, but the other night I got together with a friend and had a night of scrapping. It was so good to get back into it and I'm very keen to get more layouts done.

Anyway, I am really happy with this layout. It was quick and easy to do, which was perfect for the photo I had. This is an old photo (2008!!) that has been hanging around for ages waiting to be scrapped. So finally it is done!

I've used some non SU materials that I had laying around. I have used the SU circle punches and corner rounder on this layout.

Thanks for stopping by. I should have some more layouts and cards to share soon.
